Faint image of the mallet and chisel on each side of the emblem. In the mid 1800's, fraternal orders began to issue tokens as proof of membership in the order. Masonic pennies often feature a chapter's name on the token. Some tokens, like this one, feature the letters H. T. W. S. S. T. K. S. which means "Hiram the Widow's Son Sent to King Solomon."
