The ferry steamboat Emily was operated by Captain John F. Davis between Portsmouth, OH and Fullerton, KY. The Ohio River had been frozen for about one week and the ice was breaking up and moving, when on January 5, 1910, the Emily sank. She was insured, raised in July of 1910, and repaired.
