It was built in 1905 with a seating capacity of five hundred. The Casino was the prime social gathering place in New Boston in the early 1900's. This was located beside the Selby Shoe Factory. The 1920 Portsmouth City Directory lists The Selby Shoe Company location as Seventh (7th) Street from Findlay to John. Selbys closed in 1957.
