It had a large covered grandstand for spectators to view the games. The ball diamond was beside the roller coaster in Millbrook Park. In 1909 the Whitaker Iron Works, the Laughlin Nail Works and the Portsmouth Steel Company combined to form the Whitaker-Glessner Company.
