Black and white photo image of the Eleventh (11th) Street School. The school building was located on Eleventh (11th) Street and was erected in 1875, built primarily for African American students. The six room school could accommodate 350 students. It was opened for classes on September 1, 1876. In 1926, it was replaced by the Washington School, a more modern structure.
Photo image of the Casino in Millbrook Park. This building was actually a theater located just inside the park gates at 4200 Rhodes Avenue. It was built in 1905 with a seating capacity of five hundred. The Casino was the prime social gathering place in New Boston in the early 1900's. Plays, films, and concerts were shown all year for entertainment.
