Colorized image of the Henry Massie School building on the southwest corner of Second (2nd) & Chillicothe Streets. It was opened in 1918 and closed in 1958. It was re-named Griffin Hall for use by the Ohio University Portsmouth Branch from 1961 to 1967. It was razed in 2001.
Leather postcard of the original Portsmouth High School circa 1902-1910. (Davis High School) It was the residence of George Davis at the corner of Gallia & Waller Streets. It was razed for the construction of the PHS high school in 1912.

Black and White Photo image of the 40 foot memorial to the Civil War dead. Dedicated in 1879, the monument represents John R T Barnes, the first Scioto County soldier to die in the Civil War. It cost $6500.00 and was presented to the city by the Ladies Union Soldiers Circle.
Black and white photo image tri split for the three scenes; Spillway, Greenlawn cottage, and houseboats on the Ohio River. Levi York began developing Millbrook Park in 1899. It covered over 85 acres. Greatly damaged by the flood, it was totally dismantled by 1935.
