Originally built in 1927 (Scioto County Auditor) as the Portsmouth Public Service Bus Garage/Portsmouth City Lines. Used in that capacity until about 1954.
Served as a garage, truck repair service and warehouse for a variety of companies from about 1955-2010.

Formerly Schaefer's Food Market from about 1900 until the early 1940s. The grocery store was run by Joseph P. Schaefer and Sons. In the mid-1940s, Schaefer's branched out with larger super markets in the region. The original building was used as a warehouse for many years.
In 1978 the building housed Portsmouth Wholesale Furniture. In 1980, Vaspar Paint Center. By 1991 the building was independently owned.
