Colorized photo image of the Bigelow M. E. Church located at 415 Washington Street since 1858. It was named after Russell H. Bigelow. (1793-1835) He was a Methodist circuit rider, missionary to Indians, and chaplain of the Ohio Penitentiary. As of 1984, the non-denominational congregation is known as Bigelow Church.
Colored image of the church at the southeast corner of Franklin Avenue and Logan Street. The building was constructed in 1917, and in 2001 the congregation merged with three others to form Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

Black and white photo of the Soldiers' Monument in Soldiers Circle in Greenlawn Cemetery. In 1862 the Ladies Aid Society purchased the Civil War Union Soldier Monument dedicated on May 30, 1869. More than 2300 combat veterans, including 670 from the Civil War, are buried in Greenlawn.

Colorized photo image of the Indian (Head) Rock in the Ohio River. A note printed on the back: "To be seen only during extreme low water." Prominent citizens scratched names and initials on the rock. One image seems to be a smiling face. Some believed this was an ancient Indian hieroglyph.
Handcolored image of Union Mills. The grist mill was built by Lemuel Moss in 1834 and David Gibson built a distillery nearby in 1857. George Davis bought and operated both businesses from about 1860 until shortly before his death in 1894.
