Originally built in 1927 (Scioto County Auditor) as the Portsmouth Public Service Bus Garage/Portsmouth City Lines. Used in that capacity until about 1954.
Served as a garage, truck repair service and warehouse for a variety of companies from about 1955-2010.

Scioto County Auditor lists year built as 1900. The back part of the building, not seen in this photo, is cement block. Front portion is newer metal construction.
The PCL Building Supply Company, 401 Third at the corner of Jefferson Street.
In the 1840s the Portsmouth Machine and Casting Company foundry employed 50 people, manufacturing boilers, engines and a variety of parts.
Later the Portsmouth Cement & Lime Company opened in the building and in 2013 they became known as PCL Building Supply Company.
Private residence. Scioto County Auditor states year built as 1900. From about 1918-1930, the house was occupied by Dr. Joseph H. Gill, veterinarian. The veterinary hospital is listed as in the "rear" of the house at 517 3rd Street.

Frank was a baker for the Knittel Baking Company for over 50 years.
Built in 1938. From The Portsmouth Daily Times, June 30, 1938: "Karl Wasserman has completed the erection of a new building at 618-622 Third Street in which he will conduct his new and used automobile business under the name of Wasserman Motor Sales. Mr. Wasserman will handle Graham, Nash and Lafayette as his new machines and a full line of used cars."
Prior to 1938, the location was home to a blacksmith shop. That building was razed for construction of Wasserman's building.

From the Portsmouth Daily Times, April 30, 1925: "Announcement was made by Reilly Brothers, of 608 Third Street, formerly of the Tri-State Freight Line, that a contract had been awarded to Dennis Brickey for the erection of a modern, fireproof, storage garage building that they will build on Second and Third streets, east of Court Street, the structure to be one of the largest in that section of the city.
