Complimentary match book promoting the Hotel Hurth in Portsmouth, Ohio located at the corner of Third (3rd) and Chillicothe Streets. Built in 1923 with eight stories, 107 rooms, and adjoining baths with hot and cold water. It was designed by architect C.C. Taylor, cost over $100,00.00 to build, and was owned by Adolph Hurth. It closed in about 1971. The 1982 city directory listed Hurth Apartments for elderly-handicapped in this location.
A rust covered red metal tin with gold and black lettering from The Ohio Valley Coffee Co. in Portsmouth, Ohio. Labeled as Big San Coffee brand. The company began in 1921 by Stanton Shela, who was founder and president. In 1950, the stock was sold to a Florida man, and the building sold to Samuel Levi Company. Located 518 2nd Street.
Tanned, aged booklet with black and red print and an orange tassel on the binding of the booklet. The 16- page booklet contains class records, classmates names, gifts received, ect. Only a few items have been logged. This booklet was presented to Notre Dame graduate James Kricker by Roberts Jewelers of Portsmouth.
