The July 16, 1935 Portsmouth Times announced that Williams Manufacturing Company had purchased the Excelsior Shoe Company building at Gallia Street and Campbell Avenue for $75,000.00. This was another step in the liquidation of the Excelsior Shoe Company.

This Girl Scout Camp was constructed by the Kiwanis Club and was located on Tremper's Farm on Pond Creek in West Portsmouth, Ohio. The camp opened on July 2, 1923 to excited Girl Scouts all over the county. It was built to accommodate around twenty five girls at one time.
Colorized image of the lake in Millbrook Park. Levi York began developing Millbrook Park in 1899. It covered over 85 acres. Greatly damaged by the flood, it was totally dismantled by 1935.

The congregation had built its original building at this location in 1875 when the First Presbyterian congregation expanded. This building of "Humellstown Brownstone" was dedicated December 3, 1911 at the same location.
