Black & white images of two train depots located in Portsmouth. Top image is Old Scioto Valley Depot located at 15th (Fifteenth) and Chillicothe Streets. The bottom image, at 10th (Tenth) and Waller Streets, was the C.P.V. depot until 1901 when the N & W Railroad used it until their new terminal was built at Sixteenth (16th) and Findlay Streets in 1931. The building was used for storage until it was razed in 1968.

Built in 1901 at the corner of Second (2nd) and Market Streets, the Washington charged $3.00 per day in 1903 (Evans history of Scioto County.) From 1939 to 1956 it was known as the Milner Hotel. In about 1979 the Washington House became part of the Riverview Retirement Center along with the Biggs House.
