Tinted image of the Lizzie Bay steamboat with many people on deck. She was built in 1886 in Madison, Indiana. From The Portsmouth Times July 13, 1898: "Three Feet Only Required. The Lizzie Bay passed up at noon. The Stanley comes down at 7pm tonight. These boats can run in three feet of water." She was dismantled in 1912.

Black & white image of the Washington Hotel. Built in 1901 at the corner of Second (2nd) and Market Streets, the Washington charged $3.00 per day in 1903 (Evans history of Scioto County.) From 1939 to 1956 it was called the Milner Hotel. In about 1979 the Washington House became part of the Riverview Retirement Center along with the Biggs House.
Black & white image of the Greyhound steamboat. The Greyhound was built in Ironton in 1901. She ran in the Portsmouth-Proctorville trade and was quite fast. Used as a wharfboat at Ironton, she was lost in ice December 31, 1917.
