Thomas M. Patterson began his book binding business in 1866, and in 1882, he added making paper boxes to his business.

The building on the left was T. M. Patterson Book Bindery Company at 159 West Front Street where Thomas McNutt Patterson opened his business in 1866. The image at the center bottom shows the T. M. Patterson Paper Box Company at 709 Front Street where it continued until it closed. The upper right image was possibly another site the Patterson business was located.

Black and white portrait image of T. M. Patterson, 1826-1918 in a black frame. Patterson began in partnership in the book binding business in 1855. He dissolved the partnership in 1866, and in 1882, he added paper boxes to his line. Although he passed away in 1918, the Patterson Paper Box Co. lasted until its closure in 2002.
