On the left is Second (2nd) Street when the Portsmouth Banking Company was located at Second (2nd) and Court in the Elks Building as it was known in 1898.
On the right is the 1810 House on Waller Street near Kinney's Lane. It was the home of the Aaron Kinney family and is now a museum that is operated by the local Historical Society.
Black and white photograph of 1216 Second (2nd) Street. Sign behind the tree "Campus Ministry House". The house was demolished for Shawnee State University expansion.
In the photo, several unknown individuals can be seen on the right corner. The building at the right is the Hotel Washington. To the left, Adolph Brunner & Sons Dry Goods Store was located at 202-204 Market Street. A street car is running along the tracks in front of the store. Street cars in Portsmouth began running along tracks around 1893. The final run of the cars took place in 1938.

A more modern image of the street is on the right. The Washington is still stands, but now it is part of the Riverview Retirement Center.
