Steel cigar box opener and bottle lid opener stamped "Ohio Valley Wholesale Co." on one side. The hatchet end was used to slit label and tax stamp, pry the nail out of a cigar box lid, then pound the lid shut. The 1922 Portsmouth City Directory lists The Ohio Valley Wholesale Co., G L McMahon, Pres., T F Stanton, Sec., I E McMahon, Treas., at 737-739 Fifth (5th) Street. Cigars, Cigarettes, Tobaccos, Smokers' Articles and Sundries.
