Colorized photo image of the N. & W. Railway Bridge over the Scioto River on the west side of Portsmouth at Vera Junction. In March 1913 one middle section of this bridge was damaged by flood waters and had to be rebuilt. It was in service until 2003.
Colorized illustration of the building on the south east corner of Gallia St. and Chillicothe. This is the first half completed in 1912. In about 1924 an identical addition was added on the south side where the Lyric Theater had stood.

Black & White photo of the Buena Vista (also known as Rockville or Freestone) post office building. The first post office near Buena Vista was opened in 1848, the year after U.S. forces defeated Santa Anna in the Battle of Buena Vista in northeast Mexico. In 1960, the post office closed and the mail was processed through Stout.
