Roy Liston was born in Wamsleyville in 1877 and for more than 50 years, he taught instrumental music in southern Ohio schools.(obituary, November 19, 1956) On April 6, 1937, the Portsmouth Times noted that he was the supervisor of music in the county schools.

Sepia toned postcard with "Little Kanawha Lumber Co., Portsmouth, Ohio." on front as receipt and "H.H. Giesy, Wholsale Lumber, Lancaster, Ohio" on back as sender. Correspondence is handwritten in black ink. Company was located in New Boston but with Portsmouth postal address. 1891-1897.
