Black and white photo image of the Little Red School House. The building was built before the Civil War east of the site of the railroad Y.M.C.A. Eventually it was abandoned and moved to Eighth & Kendall. The building located there was razed shortly after 1905 to allow for the expansion of the N & W Railroad.

Because Grant had the largest gymnasium in Scioto County it was used by PHS and for county and regional basketball tournaments for over 30 years. It was razed in 2004 for the construction of the new Portsmouth Elementary building.
